Hypatia

Learn a new field through one you already understand.

01Why it exists

The hardest part of a new field is the first week, when nothing connects to what you know.

The barrier to learning something new is almost never intelligence. It is that the first explanations are written in the vocabulary of the field itself, so there is nothing to hold on to and no way in.

Hypatia starts from what you already understand. It maps the structure of the new domain onto the structure of one you have already learned — the same relationships under different names — and teaches the new thing through the old one.

You are not starting from nothing. You never were.

02Where it is

Built and live — accounts, dashboard, chat, billing and a database behind it. What does not exist is proof that the method works, and that is the only claim worth making about a learning product.

03What it does
Bring what you know

Name a field you are genuinely good at. Not one you once studied.

See the map

Hypatia shows what in the new field corresponds to what you already understand.

Learn the breaks

Where the map fails is the lesson — that is where transferred intuition goes confidently wrong.

04What would count as proof A usage dashboard would not settle it. This needs a comparison.
05Straight talk

Built, live, and deliberately not claiming a result.

  • Not instrumentedNo usage, retention or completion figures are queried.
  • The real testTime to competence against a conventional course.
  • Needs a control groupWhich makes it a study, not a dashboard.
  • The hard partAn assessment honest enough to measure competence at all.

Capital to finish these and take them to market.
